Looking for extra money...consider being an Umpire

An umpire in field hockey is a person with the authority to make decisions on a hockey pitch in accordance with the rules of the game. Umpires are an essential part of the game. Their first priority is to make sure that the game is being played safely. Their second priority is to make sure that everyone is having fun.  You do not need any prior experience and training will be provided.

KW field hockey is a safe non-competitive environment for umpires to learn. The season is short, the pay is great and everyone is welcome. If you’re interested in becoming part of “Team Umpire” please contact Jody MacDonald at

Get a free stick and ball!

All first time U9 and U11 players will be given free stick, shin guards and ball.  New to field hockey, come to our Open House and give it a try!

All registered players will receive information regarding their team assignment after April 24th.

Thank you to all the athletes who tried out last week.  Seeing this much passion and commitment makes one realize just how much our field hockey community is growing.  And that’s worth celebrating! Thank you to the parents who supported the tryouts as well. Without a supportive parent group, our team wouldn’t be possible.

Please send an email letting us know that you accept the invitation to play for the KW Dragon’s U16 Field Hockey team for 2019.

More information and details will be communicated later in the week.

Congratulation to the following athletes for making the tournament roster.  Alternative players are invited to all practices and could have the opportunity of being asked to a tournament game but do not pay the competitive fees.

KWOH Field Hockey

KWOH is a co-ed field hockey club consisting of both house league and competitive teams. Our house league program is for boys and girls U9 and U11 and female only U13, U15 and  U18.  Our 2018 house league  program will run from the last week of April to June 22.

In the Fall, we offer a weekly Skills program for 12-18 year old girls.

In November we move inside to the gym and play Indoor Field Hockey. This is a much faster game and allows girls to continue enjoying the sport they love all year long. The Indoor season consists of a league that plays November – March at RIM Park.
